Set in a universe of domestic trappings and interlocking stories, People Watching’s new creation ‘Play Dead’ observes the beautiful, twisted and laughable facets of human behavior. Through its dynamic physicality and visual storytelling, the piece puts forth a surrealist chronicle of the familiar. Far from settling into bored fatalism, ‘Play Dead’ marvels at the absurdity of the mundane and celebrates life with a pulsing desire for connections and intimacy, the same way people desperately dance to the last song before the party ends.

PRAISE FOR

Play Dead
"The show is surreal and oneiric, something that brings us to each corner of our own subconscious."
Edgar Zendejas
"They have taken the art of clowning and theatrical absurdity to a level that, like the circus, defies gravity and embraces risk as well as the bold intimacy of physical trust and interdependence."
Nadia Drouin
"Tie your hat on with a pin, the People Watching collective will sweep you up in a maelstrom of high intensity. A brilliantly interpreted creation with a flow nourished by stage action, danced acrobatics and acrobatic dance, Play Dead also features a theatricality brought about by the set and the acting."
Françoise Boudreault, Cliquez Cirque
